We encourage you to celebrate Pride in Madrid!

Gay Pride Madrid is one of the most important and awaited events in the city and this year it will take place from the 28th of June until the 7th of July. This is the pride of the LGTBQ community and is usually held in the Chueca neighbourhood. On these dates a lot of recreational, protest, cultural and musical activities are organised.  Here are some of the best-known ones for you to enjoy during your visit to the city during these days:

28 June – Chueca’s Pride

The festivities kick off with fun activities, concerts and parades in the Chueca neighbourhood.

30th June – Feathers and Paws

This activity is a demonstration against animal abuse and is held in the Plaza de Pedro Zerolo. Here you can bring your pets and enjoy other activities such as a solidarity market and a photocall.

03-07 July – Concerts (Pride Proclamation)

Stages will be set up in different parts of the city centre and will feature well-known and community-allied artists such as: Monica Naranjo, Alaska y Mario, Conchita Wurst, La Prohibida, Kylie Minogue (etc).

In addition to these evening concerts, there will also be speeches on stage about the importance of equality and diversity.

04 July – Madrid Summit

This is a conference to discuss human rights. It will bring together human rights advocates and leaders from the LGBT community to fight discrimination and strive for inclusion, diversity and equality.

04 July – Heel Race

This is a competitive sports-festive activity in which participants will have to run the course on platforms with a height of up to 15 centimetres. The race in high heels will take place in Pelayo Street.

05 July – Mr. Gay Pride

This event is one of the most important of the festivities, as it gives visibility to different realities of the collective through personal stories and stories of self-improvement. The participants represent their autonomous communities and the winner will represent Spain in international competitions.

06 July – State Demonstration

This is the most vindictive demonstration of the LGTBI community and is full of rhythms, colours and floats. It usually starts at the Carlos V roundabout and ends at Plaza Colón. It goes through the main streets of the city to demand tolerance towards this community.

07 July – Closing

On the last day of the festivities, Latin Pride is celebrated with iconic Latin artists from this community.
