Summer is coming to the city and with it a heat wave that will accompany us in all our activities. So, what better time to enjoy water and refreshing activities? If your summer plans include a visit to the city, don’t miss out on a refreshing and fun experience!
Swimming pools
The municipal swimming pools will be open this year from 15th May until 8th September and the 4 swimming pools of the Community of Madrid until 5th September. The general opening times are as follows:
- Morning shifts: from 10:00 to 15:00 h
- Afternoon shifts: from 16:00 to 21:00 h
Some of these pools are:
- Lago Casa de Campo Swimming Pool (metro Lago L10)
- Aluche Swimming Pool (Latina) (metro Aluche L5)
- Puente de Vallecas Municipal Swimming Pool (metro Portazgo L1)
Aquopolis de Villanueva de la Cañada
This water park is the best known in Madrid and is one of the largest in Europe. It opened on the 14th of June and will remain open until the beginning of September.
It has about 15 attractions which are divided into: children’s, moderate and high thrill, in order to satisfy all types of public. Almost all of them consist of pools with slides, but the big attraction is the 2,000 square metre sandy beach with a wave pool and iconic slides.
It is a bit far from the centre of Madrid, but it can be easily reached by bus 627 from Moncloa.
Parque Warner Beach
Warner Park is one of the biggest and most fun amusement parks in the city. From the 17th of June they have opened their summer part: Parque Warner Beach.
In its 40,000 square metres of space you will find a lot of fun and refreshing attractions, rest areas and themed restaurants. Among the attractions are: Rio Loco, Malibu Beach, ¡Todos al Agua! and Big Wave. An ideal place to enjoy with friends or family.
To get there you can take bus 412 from Villaverde Bajo.
